We all want or need a home coffee machine. There are as many different ways to make coffee as there are varieties of beans. In most people’s homes, there is generally going to be either some sort of percolator or as is the case more and more often, a high-quality instant home coffee maker. There is a reason for this. These new instant home coffee makers are absolutely phenomenal. They provide a fantastic cup of coffee without any of the mess or time-consumption of traditional percolators. I have a couple favorites here, and not surprisingly – although I have found some great others – I prefer the best of the best in this category, and right now, that is Keurig.
What are the best coffee machines for home? My favorite two models in this category are the Keurig B70 and the Keurig B40 (both reviewed here on this website). They both use the proprietary loading system of the K-Cup. This is the main reason for their success. The K-Cups are small, easily exchangeable, virtually unlimited in selection variety, and best of all, they make a great cup of coffee. Additionally, you can buy K-Cups online, through of-the-month clubs, and of course in your local retail stores everywhere.
Personally, I have a Keurig B40 in my home and it might just be my most valued home appliance. It is used every single day, and you wouldn’t believe it until you switch out your percolator for a Keurig (or similar) but these machines make you excited for your coffee each and every day. That’s a pretty impressive feat for something as mundane as your daily grind.
Another brewer I have been fortunate enough to try recently has been the Bosch Tassimo Single-Serve Coffee Brewer. One of the benefits to this model over some of the competition is the extra large water reservoir. At 68oz, you will be able to brew multiple cups for your whole household before needing to refill. If you drink coffee like you do in my house, this is a nice feature. The only down side is the current lack of local supply for their proprietary coffee grind loading system which is called the T-Disc. But as an internet savvy person, there should be no issues in supplying your fix online. For my tastes, sometimes I run out and on Sunday morning, I’d rather be able to run to the store and pick up a number of K-Cups on the fly than hope that I don’t run out before my next coffee delivery.
I’ll do a full Tassimo review soon, in the meantime, if it looks like the brewer for you, check them out on Amazon using the link I’ve provided here.
